English Premier League:
The Premier League will be omnipresent during December. Indeed, 6 rounds will be played before the New Year. This week-end, it’s already round 14. The two Manchester stay on a draw and want to continue their good runs against affordable opponents. City hosts Norwich and United move to Birmingham to play against Aston Villa.
This week, we will focus on the third in the rankings, Tottenham. Spurs don’t make a lot of noise, but they are serious contenders for the podium. They have a game in hand and are virtually second. They have a high quality squad and play an attractive football. Saturday, they host Bolton, which aren’t at their best since the start of the season. The Wanderers are 18ths with the worst defense. Coach Owen Coyle is under pressure. Not the best situation before a match at White Hart Lane.
After losing in Europa League with a mixed team against PAOK (1-2), Tottenham are almost eliminated of this competition. But it’s not a secret; they are not really focus on this objective. The main goal of the season is the qualification for Champions League. So, it will be different Spurs on the field Saturday.

French Ligue 1:
Just for once, we will talk about Ligue 1. A game gets my attention this week. First rank Montpellier host Lorient which move without many important players.
Montpellier are a threat for the presumed big clubs this season. They are first after 15 rounds, with more than 2 points per game in average and it’s not only by chance. They have the best attack, they are good at home, they know how to win against defensive teams and they managed to beat big guns like Lille or even Marseille.
They can count on talented players like Giroud or Belhanda to make the difference offensively.
Lorient were weakened this summer with the sold of their two best players, Gameiro and Amalfitano. Like each season, they found lower price players, or used their networks to obtain loans. Before going to Montpellier, they count some injured players (Bourillon, Koné, Romao, Diarra, Quercia, Alliadière). With their squad, their misses will tough to replace.
The worry here is the state of mind of Montpellier. They haven’t the habit to be so high in the rankings and to receive so many compliments. But if they stay serious, they have all the weapons to beat this weakened team of Lorient which is more efficient at home on his artificial pitch than on the road.

Germany Bundesliga:
Bayern have to react in Bundesliga after their defeat against Mainz. They host Werder, which count only two points less in the rankings, for an explosive game.
Bayern were fantastic on the start of the season, bet they are not at their best now. Schweinsteiger is injured and it’s a big blow. Tymoshcuck who took his place in midfield is suspended, so Bayern are without their two regular central midfielders. Tony Kroos had to replace Schweinsteiger on the midfield, but he is ill and the club could prefer to rest him.
Also some players are not at the same level than two month ago. Müller is in this case. Against Werder he will play like a second striker. He was really good on the right of the attack this season, not really in this axial position.
Pizzarro comes back for Werder after being injured 1 week. It’s good news for the guests. They have some injuries, but they can align a very competitive team. They will not have motivation problem to match Bayern. They can at least don’t lose by 3 goals here.
